Kangana Ranaut is set to step into the shoes of the yesteryear actress and
beautiful diva Madhubala for a movie role.
Director Milan Luthria ’s next film has many characters plucked from
real life. Titled Once Upon A Time In Mumbai , the movie tells the story of
underworld gangster Haji Mastan in the 1960s. Ajay Devgan will play Mastan while
Kangana Ranaut has been roped in to play an actress Mastan was romantically
interested in.
Madhubala was the actress Mastan was rumoured to have had a soft spot for.
Reportedly, Luthria considered roping in Katrina Kaif or Priyanka Chopra for
the role, but it eventually went to Kangana, who, coincidentally, played a
gangster’s love interest in her debut movie Gangster .
‘Once Upon A Time’ will also have Kangana’s
‘Gangster’ co-star Emraan Hashmi playing the young Dawood Ibrahim
who eventually takes over the leadership of the underworld from Mastan.
The movie will be produced by Ekta Kapoor. Shooting is expected to begin from
